| Patient Safety focuses on measuring and reducing risks in the delivery of health care. This discipline uses research for the measurement of patient safety challenges in the effort to build both accountability and infrastructure to support safe and effective care through voluntary reporting. Patient Safety is at a nascent stage in India due to lack of expertise and research. My Fulbright-Nehru project focuses on understanding the infrastructure, models and tools for implementation of patient safety practices in the U.S. Some of the best practices in patient safety could be effectively applied in Indian tertiary care hospitals as well as public health at large. | |
